Hope you had a cozy and delicious Thanksgiving week! I just arrived back to my apartment and feeling all the feels. Tomorrow is December, which means it’s my last month here before heading upstate full-time (for the time being.) I’m not trying to make a big deal about leaving, especially since I’ll only be an hour and a half away and will be back often for work. Still, I can’t help feeling a bit sad and nostalgic. I’ve spent the past nine years living in the same 4-block radius, and so much has happened during that time. These were my formative years in the city — leaving my job to pursue cheese full-time, writing two (and a half) cookbooks, and experiencing immense personal growth. It’s the end of an era. I’ll definitely write a more sappy post when the time comes (including my long awaited Greenpoint, Brooklyn foodie guide) but for now I need to sort through all of the clutter I’ve accumulated over the years.
This was the first Thanksgiving where I actually didn’t make a cheese plate! I wanted to try something different, and went down the small bites / dips route. I recipe tested two dishes for the new cookbook and they turned out DELICIOUS. One was a whipped feta dip and the other, festive tortellini skewers. I’m going to make a few tweaks to the skewers, so sharing them here won’t be a huge spoiler. They are definitely time consuming to assemble, but the end result makes for a great handheld bite.
I also was tasked with making a crudités plate, but I find veggie platters to be a bit boring. My mom suggested we arrange them into a pie shape, and I came up with this cute little presentation using cucumber as the pie lattice. I want to add a few tweaks, so I’ll try to record a tutorial to share in the next few weeks!

A few people asked for a high-def version of the skewers for a phone wallpaper background, so you can download that here!
